Subjects offered are MYOB accounting, Keyboard Skills and Techniques, Basic Computer Operations, Word Processing Functions using Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel, Database using Microsoft Access, Desktop Publishing, PowerPoint.
A Queensland registered teacher conducts all classes. Each class session lasts three hours and there is a choice of class times.
MYOB with GST - Accounting Program 7 x 3 hour sessions.
MYOB for beginners. Course covers chequebook, sales and purchases (cash & credit) and bank reconciliation. Also, error correction and customising invoices. Work with card files, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets and other Reports. Covers End of year procedures and adjustments.
MYOB Set-up Procedures 3 x 3 hour sessions.
Altering the Chart of Accounts by changing, deleting and creating new accounts. Create, delete and add new Tax Codes. Produce new Card Files. Create Item (stock) Cards and enter new stock. Also produce the Business Activity Statement
Keyboard Skills and Techniques 6 x 3 hour sessions
Learn to touch type. Gain skills in keyboarding techniques, operation and speed building with this touch-typing course. An important skill for any professional computer operator or computer hobbyist.
Basic Computer Operations - Introduction to Computers 4 x 3 hour sessions
This course is great for computer beginners. Learn basic skills of opening, saving, printing and closing files. Work in different computer programs being Word, Excel, Access and Paint. Produce text and graphics and learn editing and formatting.
Word Processing Functions - Using Microsoft Word 7 x 3 hour sessions
Covers page design and layout – letters, faxes, and memos, etc. Learn cut, copy, paste, drag and drop. Character and paragraph formatting – Indenting, hanging and line spacing. Also borders, shading, bullets, click and type, margins, headers and footers, landscape and portrait orientation. Views in Word being normal, outline and web. Produce attractive tables, tabulation and produce mail merge doc's, etc.
Spreadsheets - Using Microsoft Excel 7 x 3 hour sessions
Work with new and multiple workbooks. Create formulas and functions (Average, Max, Min). Build Relative Cell References and Absolute Cell References. Learn cell ranges, editing, headers and footers, dragging and dropping cell data. Also study Find and Replace, Auto sum, Auto fill, Auto complete. Also formatting data, borders, shading format painter, column and row sizing and orientation, charts, etc.
Database - Using Microsoft Access 6 x 3 hour sessions
This course covers database management. Produce database tables, forms, queries and reports. Learn how to find data and extract required data from a database. Work with an existing database and learn how to create a new database.
Desktop Publishing 6 x 3 hour sessions
Design professional looking newsletters, brochures and flyers. Create displays using the Publisher Wizard, Publications by Design and Blank Publications. Study page building, use graphics, character and paragraphing formatting, Word Art, character tracking and kerning, line spacing, drawing, layering and locking objects. Also create a template, etc.
PowerPoint 4 x 3 hour sessions
Learn how to design, format and layout slides. Work with graphics, graph charts and organization charts. Create multiple slides with text, footers, hidden slides, clip art, drawing and object animation and annotations - pencil. Also audience and speaker notes. Use the slide master, etc.
